MCA Youth chief Wee Ka Siong today urged DAP to ask the Kelantan PAS government, its partner in the opposition pact, to be fair to the Chinese community here on the issue of land ownership.

He said the state government's action yesterday in handing over land titles to 75 Orang Asli, had hurt the feelings of the Chinese community in the area as they had long ago applied for land titles but without success.

mca youth agm 091010 wee ka siong 02 "If the DAP is really PAS' true partner in the opposition pact, where are the land titles for the Chinese New Village residents? Please put your words into action.

"The Chinese here have been waiting long for land titles. So, I am challenging DAP to get PAS to be fair to them," Wee ( left ) said, in Gua Musang, today.

He said PAS' tactic of scaring the Chinese community that they would not be getting land titles if they did not support the party, was unethical.

Wee, who is also deputy education minister, said PAS and DAP should be working together in looking after the welfare of the Chinese community here, instead of spreading lies that land issues came under the jurisdiction of the federal government.

"After ruling Kelantan for 20 years, is PAS still pushing this responsibility to the BN government? According to the Constitution, state governments are responsible for land matters.

"I hope the voters in Galas can see PAS' true colours," he said.
