The Selangor government is wasting funds meant for students and jeopardising the future of the young generation, said state BN deputy chief Noh Omar.

NONE He was commenting on reports that Yayasan Selangor spent RM300,000 to celebrate its 40th anniversary, RM320,000 on a consultant firm to handle its Hari Raya celebrations and RM120,000 on women's clothing.

The Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has announced that he will not attend the anniversary dinner on learning the cost of the celebrations.

Noh said the Selangor Foundation had been set up by the Barisan government to support the education of poor students from rural areas.

Now that the opposition had taken over the government and foundation, funds for students are being wasted, he said.
