Brickbats and bouquets for PKR new line-up

your say 'Gobala is a sore loser. If you want to go back to MIC, go. Otherwise, be a team player and support PKR. You can still be an MP for the next term.'

New PKR line-up a hit and miss with Indian leaders

Victor Johan: N Gobalakrishnan, N Surendran is far a better choice than you, face it. While you have been doing your tasks to the best of your ability you may say - and rather crudely - Surendran comes as a refined matter-of-fact personality, often firm and with strong commitment and convictions.

You should stay calm and professional, and be thankful. Don't do a Nallakaruppan ‘stunt', otherwise you will be finished. Your tweet messages are not kind, especially to Elizabeth Wong, which were rather absurd and disgusting. We don't need you to adopt a sore loser attitude.

If you were to seek general consensus, especially from the youth and professionals, Surendran outshines you any time. And stop playing racial politics. PKR is a multiracial party with the leaders needing and willing to serve all Malaysians.

ONG: It looks like it's impossible to please some Indians. No Indians, they complain. Got Indian, they complain that the Indian is not Tamil. Next time, give them a Tamil, and they will again complain, maybe for belonging to the wrong class of Tamil, or not being Tamil enough, or perhaps being too Tamil.

Stone Cold: Gobala is a sore loser. If you want to go back to MIC, go. Otherwise, be a team player and support PKR. You can still be an MP for the next term. Don't play into the racial cards of BN. We Tamils need to change our thinking. Follow the Punjabi mindset.

We need to improve our community through a positive mindset. Hunt with the hounds, and run with the rabbits.

VP Biden: The key word here is teamwork, Gobala, If Suren cannot do what you think he can't do, you should assist, advise and be proactive to implement solutions. Don't fall into the BN-type of race politics. We don't need it. It will be a step backwards.

You have done well previously. I still believe you will be a team player when push comes to shove. BN is a sick now. All you need to do is strategise and deliver them a killer blow.

Temenggong You are learning Gobala. Sooner or later, you, S Manickavasagam, R Sivarasa, Tian Chua and William Leong - are all going to go the way of S Nallakaruppan. Non-Malays though they could use Anwar Ibrahim and climb the totem pole, like DAP. Well guess what - it is Anwar who is using you. As long as you think we need Anwar to get to Putrajaya, it will not happen.

KSN: What do the Indians expect from PKR and Anwar? Anything different from Umno? See the way Umno treated MIC and Indians all this while?

You got carried away by the sweet talk of Anwar and people like him. His agenda is himself and Malays. Can you Indians not get that through your skulls? Look at the Chinese. They do not care about any party. If they do, they ensure that they demand and get what is theirs.

Indians, you should go about on your own and fend for yourself, like the Chinese. When elections come, demand your pound of flesh. Do not be cry babies. Do not rely on any politicians and parties like Umno, PKR, DAP, etc, from now on.

Go and work with Hindraf, the ‘third force' and the like. I am saying all this because you fellows deserve better, not the shabby treatment you have been getting all this while: rejected by Umno, unwanted by PKR.

Civilian: Get the facts right: we Indian are backwards in terms of opportunity, but we are not dependent on Indian leaders to bring change. So Gobala, don't use us for your racial politics agenda. We should emulate the Chinese in seeking change rather than depending on the government.

Prominent lawyer Surendran now PKR VP

Proarte: Surendran is a good choice. I was concerned that Dr Xavier Jayakumar would be appointed. He does not have the respect across the board of members of the Indian community and is widely seen as a poodle of Azmin Ali.

Surendran instead is trusted by the Hindu community. His human rights work, including representing the marginalised, is creditable. If Xavier was appointed, this would have raised the hackles of Gobalakrishnan, who would create more trouble for PKR.

IWASTHERE: I totally disagree with the appointment of Surendran as VP. Though Xavier didn't get into the top four in the VP posts' race, he secured the fifth place followed by Gopalakrishnan. Xavier should be given the VP to fill the Indian quota as the majority of PKR members chosen him.

Surendran didn't even contest but was given a VP post. This means next time Indians don't need to contest in PKR elections as the president will choose the VP. Either Xavier or Gopala should have been given the post.

Sarawakian: I think this is a good line-up. Notably, none of these guys are the ‘froggy' money-grabbing type, but rather all are passionate in fighting for justice and equality. Let's see if the Tenang by-election will reinforce PKR as a force to be reckoned with.

Bersatulah Sabah: It is good that the East Malaysian quota is given to Sarawakian bumiputeras in place of Dr Jeffrey Kitingan. PKR should now rally effort to help DAP in Sarawak and leave Sabah to UBF (United Borneo Force), SAPP, DAP and PAS, instead.

Sabah PKR is really in a mess with no apparent hope whatsoever that any PKR candidate can garner a credible number of votes to win than had been achieved by Jeffrey and Christina Liew in 2008. Only PKR Sabah KDM (KadazanDusunMurut) and the Chinese had done well. Muslim PKR candidates have not delivered credible result.

RHI: Alhamdulillah, syukur kepada Allah. It's a good line up and I'm happy that Badrul Hisham ‘Cegubard' Shaharin and Mustaffa Kamil Ayub also accepted the posts. Let's focus on the 13 th general elections now.

Justice Seeker: Congratulations, Surendran, for being appointed as VP. You deserve the appointment. Honestly speaking, you have always been fighting for the underprivileged and the abused. I always see you in the forefront defending the victims of abuse especially, those things which involve law and order. You are brave and willing to challenge the authorities.

I consider you a rakyat's leader irrespective of race. Hopefully you will become an MP in the 13 th general elections and continue with your crusade.
