Teoh's death: A crime but no killer

your say 'If the RCI is only to investigate whether Teoh's human rights have been violated, then forget it. We already know that his human rights have been violated.'

Najib: RCI will not probe cause of death

Neders: The biggest stone to be turned are the circumstances leading to and surrounding the cause of TBH's (Teoh Beng Hock's) death. We are talking about a possible, if not probable, homicide here. Ascertain the cause of death and automatically one will know whether TBH's human rights had been violated.

Thai pathologist Pornthip Rojanasunand concluded in her autopsy that the deceased sustained a pre-fall injury in the area of his neck and the coroner by his own admission agreed with that finding. I assure you that the injury did not come about as a result of self-strangulation as suggested by the clown of a lawyer, Abdul Razak Musa.

Does not this fact of a pre-fall injury alone more than suggest something foul took place. Why bother to set up the RCI (royal commission of inquiry) if its terms of reference is limited to ascertaining whether in this case there was violation of human rights.

Anonymous_4031: The PM had promised Teoh Beng Hock's family that "no stone will be left unturned". Does it not mean that he should unearth the whole truth? The truth will include the cause of death, which will pin-point the killer/killers.

Don't you think that the coroner's report made it rather absurd that it was "not suicide, not homicide". To my understanding, there was no killer. If so, then how did TBH die? By natural cause?

If by natural cause, how was it that his body was found down below the MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) building? Did he walk through the window? If he did walk through the window, then the coroner would have said that he committed suicide, which he had ruled out.

Fairplayer: Najib, what is important is that justice is served and the family properly compensated, even though no amount of compensation will bring back TBH's life.

Najib, prove your worth as a fellow human being and a fellow Malaysian, in your capacity as the PM of Malaysia. Do what is just and right in God's sight and in the eyes of the rakyat. Perhaps there's still a glimmer of hope to bring back respect to yourself from the rakyat.

TBH is dead. He can't come back to life. But you are in a position of power and authority to at least compensate the family for the deep pain and sorrow inflicted upon them so ruthlessly by your men in the MACC.

Let the rakyat see the gentleman in you by righting what is grossly wrong and wronged by your men in the MACC.

Vijay_24bf: Najib, when you met Teoh's family, you promised them a royal commission if they were dissatisfied with the outcome of the inquest. The family is far from satisfied and have demanded you keep your promise.

You have now stated that such a royal commission will be indeed held, but its scope is to be limited to probing "MACC's investigation procedures and whether it had violated human rights".

Tell me, Mr Prime Minister, of what comfort or concern would this be to the bereaved family, where would they find the solace that at least the perpetrators of their son's death would be brought to justice?

We simply cannot understand why you are not the first to want to know the truth. What have you got to hide? The entire nation hopes that for once its prime minister would honour his word and do the decent thing. Going by your track record, perhaps that is too much to ask.

DontPlayGod: If the RCI is only to investigate whether Teoh Beng Hock's human rights have been violated, then forget it. The whole world already knows that his human rights have been violated except the PM.

What everyone (except Umno) wants the RCI to investigate is the cause of Teoh's death. That is the only thing that matters to everyone and to Teoh's family.

Swipenter: Another RCI to fool the people, just like the Lingamgate. Even the blind can see that the government is trying to sidestep what the public and Teoh's family want; that is who killed TBH, why and how, and those found responsible for his death be punished.

It looks like there won't be justice for TBH under the present administration. Najib promised the Teoh family that no stones would be unturned to get to the bottom of THB's untimely and cruel death, but now he is leaving the most important stone unturned. What a farce!

Malaysiasakit: Here we go again, yet another toothless Royal Omission of Inquiry. A pointless and futile exercise wasting time and taxpayers' money.

In case the PM is unaware, one of the worst kept secrets in the world is that Teoh Beng Hock's rights have been violated. He was subject to a torturous investigation despite being only a witness to a corruption case involving a paltry sum of RM2,000.

With such overwhelming evidence screaming at you, do we still need this royal whatever?

Ronnie Liu: Dear PM Najib, the whole world knows that Teoh Beng Hock was taken to MACC by its officers from Teoh's office. He later died under MACC's custody. MACC is therefore responsible for Teoh's death. It cannot run away from its responsibility. You must punish MACC, or else, you shall be held responsible.

Hashim: I feel a sandiwara being cooked up here. The reason why the attorney-general is appealing for a review of the inquest findings is to enable two things to happen:

1) It gives Najib the excuse that the royal commission will not be investigating the cause of death as the court is doing it.

2) The court, in reviewing the inquest findings, will eventually say it was suicide. That decision will only be announced after the next general election.
