Noisy demonstrators made their presence felt at the Jalan Duta court complex in Kuala Lumpur early this morning ahead of the expected court appearanceof the 'Datuk T' trio, who allegedly screened a sex video at a hotel three months ago.
About 100 supporters, some believed to be members of Malay rights group Perkasa, were on hand to support the three accused who had revealed the sex video featuring a man resembling Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim.
Holding up placards displaying slogans such as ‘Hidup Datuk T' and 'Kami Sokong Perkasa', the crowd chanted in support of the Datuk T.
Datuk T, a moniker for the infamous trio comprising businessman Shazryl Eskay Abdullah, former Malacca chief minister Rahim Thamby Chik and former Perkasa treasurer Shuaib Lazim, are expected to be charged today over the sex video.
It was previously reported that they had claimed responsibility for the screening of a sex video which depicted a man having sex with a woman in Carcosa Seri Negara on March 21.
Rahim’s aide: We've faith in the legal system
Speaking to reporters with the protesters behind him, a man said that the ‘Datuk T’ supporters were from "NGOs from all over the country".
"We have full faith in the legal system. We are confident in the legal and judiciary system of the country,” he declared.
"We are 100 percent certain that the man in the video is who Datuk T say he is, and we came voluntarily to support Datuk T."
The man later said that he did not want to be named, but was identified as Rahim's aide, Mohd Suhaimin (

"No one paid for us to come," he said.
Despite the occasional shouting on the steps of the court complex, a handful of police personnel kept watch on the crowd from a distance.
By 9am, the crowd had dissipated, seeking shelter from the glaring morning sun.
