Pig heads fly in the face of logic

YOURSAY 'There is absolutely no issue that will prompt any non-Muslim to be so agitated as to throw pig heads into a Muslim place of worship.'

When pig heads fly

your say Trumpet Call: These diabolical attempts by evil men to cause friction between Muslims and non-Muslims has to be condemned in the strongest terms by all races alike.

If we examine the current religious sentiments in the country, there is absolutely no issue that will prompt any non-Muslim to be so agitated as to throw pig's heads into a Muslim place of worship.

More so during the festive season of peace and goodwill. The timing of this devilish act is totally out of sync with the prevailing atmosphere of the moment.

So let's all keep ourselves level headed and not jump to wrong conclusions or else we will fall into the trap of the evil people who will stop at nothing to achieve their political ends.

Rayfire: I guess this is one of Umno's "winning at any cost" strategies. People are smart enough to know that this trick won't work, except for some overzealous bunch of hypocrites (read Perkasa, Himpun, Pekida) who may make a hoohaa about this. The general public have greater concerns to tackle.

Bertrand Russell: The pig heads incident is the work of subversive elements who want to see disunity. Let us pray that 2012 will be a year of change with Malaysians throwing BN into the dumpster.

James1067: Fifty-four years and we are still discussing race and religion; this indicates there is something wrong. We should have put this subject to a close a very long time.

Sorry to say that former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his disciples - Abdullah Badawi and Najib Razak - will never allowed this issue to be buried.

They have used it to their advantage and now even more aggressively. The problem is that we don't have enemies from outside (but yet our defence budget goes mind-boggling up) - our enemies are all within, willing to destroy our own nation for selfish interests.

The big question is that are we, as Malaysians, going to allow it. Our destiny is in our hands and God will play His part if we do ours.

Reborn: This Umno blaming is being taken to a new level. No way can any political party win an election simply by blaming and cursing the other. Blaming Umno for everything is on the cusp of becoming a trap for Pakatan Rakyat.

Mohd: Reborn, of course, this incident and many others that have occurred over the past few years were the result of Umno-BN's incompetence or its doings.

You can't be saying that when something good happens it is due to Umno-BN's competence but when something bad happens they don't want to take the responsibility. That will be an oxymoron. But then they are morons.

Kenny Tan: Thank you, Hazlan Zakaria, for a very well thought out article. This is our one and only Malaysia, a land of milk and honey. A land that provides enough for everyone needs, but not everyone's greed.

Let us, the rakyat, take the destiny of our beloved country into our own hands. If we don't honestly rein in our debts, it will do us in soon enough. Look what is happening in Greece, Portugal, Italy and Spain, and you will see that the writing is on the wall for Malaysia.

Let us the rakyat, regardless of race or creed, do something about it in the next GE.

Lynn: I so agree with this very well-written piece. The ridiculousness of Umno-BN has reached a point where Malaysians are utterly disgusted at the low levels they are willing stoop to. How stupid do they think we are anyway to believe their orchestrated lies. ABU (Anything but Umno)!

Open Minded: This is an article of intellect that everyone should reflect upon so as not to let emotions fly. Another once peaceful country, Nigeria, has been caught in the web of religious turmoil perpetrated by religious extremism.

For us, 54 years have brought tremendous progress and we want the trend to continue, not end in disputes and internal quarrels. There are rough edges to be smoothened to improve the system and make it more efficient and clean.

Sometimes one only realises what is good when it has been lost, and by then it is too late to get it back no matter how hard one tries.

Let 2012 be a turning point for tolerance and understanding which once existed in abundance, and let it be a time when people practise the true teachings of their religion.

Joe Lee : Hazlan, very well said. However, I disagree about the mention of "honourable men". Abdul ‘May 13' Razak (and his son Najib) are not honourable men.

If he was, he would not have conspired against the Tunku. These are racists with a fascist agenda - that of ‘ketuanan Melayu'. Let's call spades spades. They are guilty in the court of the people.

David Dass: Brilliant. Hazlan's words worth repeating.

"Let not these 'pigs', whoever they are, take away our land, let them not steal our peace. Let them not stir us against one another, but let us show them resolve, that let our rights and destiny self dictate.

"To this end, let us unite, let us be one and this our earthly paradise, keep safe."

Keturunan Malaysia: Beautiful, Hazlan, beautiful. Let's make sure we identify the correct pigs, and when the time comes, let's make sure these pigs answer and answer right and not fly away!

It didn't work in S'gor, it will not in Johor
