Pre-recording of manifestos 'will go on'

EC chairperson Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof reiterated in

that the
initiative
is one of 32 proposals by the parliamentary select committee on electoral reform.
“Certainly the airing of party manifestos will be carried out ... (Political parties) should wait for guidelines to be released by the Information, Communication and Culture Ministry before making any comments,” he reportedly said, referring to objections voiced to date.
“Pakatan Rakyat should wait for the full guidelines and display mature thinking .. All political parties will get (a fair chance) to present their manifesto ... This is also in line with efforts to improve the electoral process.”
PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim and PAS secretary-general Mustafa Ali are among those who have objected to the pre-recording of manifestos, saying this opens up the possibility of messages being edited and becoming distorted.
