vox populi small thumbnail Holden: These are interesting comments for the PM to make at home regarding liberalism and pluralism, while at the same time he proclaims long and loud in international circles that pluralism is the source of the strength of the country.

And instead of constantly harping about perceived culture of hatred of the online media, could we have your thoughts, PM, on the culture of hatred and ethnocentrism of a number of mainstream print media?

Cala: PM Najib Razak, please think before you talk. First, I am not aware that the concept of true liberalism and pluralism brings hatred. This must be a new theory privy only to Najib. But I am aware of self-interested parties bent on sowing hatred amongst people.

Second, why talk about control all the time? Why not talk about cultivating a more inclusive culture for Malaysia?

Cogito Ergo Sum: So far, the mainstream online news portals, a term I refer to Malaysiakini , The Malaysian Insider and Free Malaysia Today , have been responsible and faithful to the notion of nationhood, unity and equality.

They are manned by professional journalists who know where and when the line cannot be crossed. They are the only avenue left for reliable information.

In sharp contrast, the likes of Utusan , New Straits Times , The Star and the whole jingbang of MSM (mainstream media) newspapers are purveyors of hate and racial and religious bigotry.

You have laws to deal with such extremism and yet you want to turn your sights on the truth seekers? Deal with these first.
