We don't need a Chinese PM, just a clean one

YOURSAY ‘Whether a Chinese gets to be PM or not, is not important at all and we have never ever demanded a Chinese PM.’

Minister: Chinese can be PM if they drop racist mindset

your say Pemerhati: It is amazing that the senior member of Umno, which itself is a racist organisation and which at every opportunity loudly and proudly proclaims its racist slogan, ‘Untuk Bangsa, Ugama dan Negara’, has the audacity and cheek to call the discriminated Chinese minority racist.

Despite being subjected to severe discrimination by Umno, the Chinese minority has done well in the private sector and according to former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad, the father of racism, this minority contributes about 80 percent of the taxes.

The salaries of people like Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Shahidan Kassim and the other public service officials get paid from these taxes. He should therefore stop biting the hand that feeds him and instead use his brains a little and ask this question:

If the Chinese are able to do very well in the private sector and help the Malays and the country by paying disproportionately high taxes, would they also not do well in other sectors and thus help the country in its growth and development?

Quigonbond: Shahidan, you mean sharing power like what the Chinese have been doing supporting BN for the past 50 odd years, only to realise all Malaysians including them are getting a raw deal?

They would rather share what little most of them have left with relatively clean and much more humane Malays from Pakatan Rakyat instead of letting Umno/BN/cronies of all races continue to pillage and plunder their hard-earned money.

BN Cyberpooper: It is easy to demonise the Chinese. Here is the template used by BN since day one:

If the Chinese attend BN rallies, then they are there for free food and money. If the Chinese don't attend BN rallies, they are unpatriotic.

If the Chinese attend opposition rallies, they are out to steal power from Malays. If the Chinese don't attend opposition rallies, they only care about a strong economy and doesn't care about policies.

If you have a narrow mind, and are too attached to your point of view, then you will only see the things you want to see and acknowledge the things that agree with your point of view.

Telestai!: The Chinese never harbour any dreams of having a PM from its community. As far as I know, the Chinese will accept a PM from any race as long as the PM is fair, upright and progressive.

Shahidan, stop your cock and bull story about the Chinese wanting a Chinese PM. The Chinese revolted against BN because it could no long stomach the blatant abuse of power and divisive politics of Umno.

It seems every man in the street knew that, except you fellows in Umno.

Tehachapi: With this supposedly experienced Umno national leader talking in this manner, there is little wonder that we have all sorts of warped illogical thinking floating around. There is little opportunity for critical thought and rational argument in this country.

The argument seems to be that if you don't agree with me, then you must be a racist. This presumes that the speaker himself is not a racist.

Under the leadership of such low quality Umno leaders, the country is doomed. There is no hope for raising productivity.

This is a sad, sad example of how we set about destroying ourselves. Certainly, no one outside of this country will even shed a tear of sorrow if Malaysia chooses to ruin itself in the process.

Home: We, the Chinese, are not racists, just anti-BN. Whether a Chinese gets to be PM or not, is not important at all and we have never ever demanded a Chinese PM.

Only people who care for the people and the country should be PM, and of course as a criterion he or she must be a Malaysian.

Dont Just Talk: PM Najib Razak has really scraped the bottom of the barrel to have such a clown appointed as a minister, with such low mentality in his argument.

Shahidan should direct his statement to Umno Baru members and Perkasa ‘kataks’ (frogs), including the former fourth PM.

Having eight full-fledged ministers in the PM’s Department, Shahidan’s role in it is just that - talking crap and collecting his perks and monthly salary.

Gggg: Umno members can be only bumiputeras, whereas DAP and Pakatan Rakyat members can be from any race. So who is racist, Shahidan?

RKR: I have two questions for Shahidan:

1) Which social media is asking the Chinese to grab power?

2) Can the Malays (especially those in Umno and Perkasa) willingly integrate with the non-Malays in the first place? If not, Shahidan should just shut his mouth.

I know it’s the season for Umno elections, but please talk sensibly.

Old Farmer: Umno is harping on the so-called racism of others to blame their failure in GE13 solely on the Chinese in order to divert attention from the real issues, such as corruption, abuse of power, fraud and the flawed election.

Apapunboleh: Racism by the opposition? And what has Biro Tatanegara (BTN) been propagating - love thy neighbour?

The ‘blame the Chinese’ game continues
