Chow Kon Yeow has topped the Penang DAP committee elections and is likely to be retained their leader.

He polled 621 votes of the 661 votes cast. He was followed by Jagdeep Singh Deo (475 votes) and party veteran Lim Hock Seng (372).

Two of DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng's trusted lieutenants, Ng Wei Aik and Jeff Ooi, failed to make the cut.

Two state assemblypersons - Chong Eng and Danny Law - also failed to get themselves elected.

Notably, Penang deputy chief minister II P Ramasamy placed ninth in the election for the 15 committee members.
