Why don't we comment and educate fellow Muslims about their ‘syirik’ behaviour? Is this what Islam teaches us?

When Muslims are labeled terrorists, we are angry. Why? Because Islam teaches us many good things and we are not people who terrorise others.

But look how we behave in public - sacrificing chickens and the smearing of blood. Are we doing Islam a favour or disfavour?

Tholu: Abdul Rahman is another moron, perhaps even more moronic than Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. He is exhibiting his racist nature and religious bigotry, not to mention his sycophantic nature towards Umno.

He owes his career to Umno for accepting him as a member and later nominating him as a MP candidate for Kota Belud. Now, having been promoted to a minister, he will look for every opportunity to denounce the opposition so as to remain in the good books of the PM, even if his arguments are not worth quarter of a grain of the cheapest rice.

And by the way, how is it that he is so passionately and jealously defending the royal institution when the place he was born, bred and educated (Sabah) had never had a sultan, at least in his time?

Well, it could be, just as I said, an opportunity for him to show his misplaced loyalty to PM.

Anonymous #20513663: Umno's point of view is very clear: They are the sole defenders of 'Malays' and 'Islam'.

Therefore, whenever they feel threatened (whether because of electoral losses or because their misdeeds and poor governance are exposed or because of some other 'perceived' or 'invented' threat), logically “somebody” must be attacking 'Malays' and 'Islam'.

And this obviously justifies arbitrary, irrational and emotional violence against all Malaysians. Or at least this is what they would like all of us to believe.

Ordinary Malaysians who identify as Malays and Muslims must speak up against all this before it it too late. Say loud and clear that Umno does not represent all Malays or the beautiful religion of Islam.

Ipohcrite: Abdul Rahman is simply trying to defend the indefensible act of the slapping threat against Seputeh MP Teresa Kok by linking it to attacks on Muslims, Islam and the Agong, where there are clearly none.

The reaction and thinking of this minister regarding the slapping threat issue is nothing short of encouraging thuggish behaviour. Sigh, education totally wasted!

Quigonbond: Only in Bolehland can a minister make statements like this and get away scot-free. If they have proof that DAP has been insulting Islam, Agong and Malays, it leaves no doubt in my mind that the office bearers would have been slapped with multiple sedition charges long ago.

Besides, two wrongs don't make one right. Threatening to slap someone is an offence by any other name through any tinted glasses that Umno may have.

Umno ministers who can't even say it straight up, still insistent that a threat - unless of murder - is not really a threat, is not only undeserving to be ministers and politicians that they are, but to be citizens because only non-citizens not domiciled in Malaysia can plead ignorance of law.

Only in Umno jungle politics that everything is painted in race and religion, as is with their fixation with anal intercourse. This is another reason why the Malaysian ringgit is 2.62 against Singapore dollar - a record low.

Masu Otaku: What kind of a minister is Abdul Rahman who can’t even answer a simple question without being evasive and changing the topic. Just answer yes or no - "Is it okay to offer someone money to slap you?"

The results of their actions are now for all to see - having to spend time and energy on the irrational responses of the extremists and making trips to police station to lodge reports, and all to no good visible end. It is better not to poke into the nest of the bees unless one has a good end plan to that action.

Nevertheless, the reaction of the extremists in inciting violence is extremely dangerous and should be condemned in no uncertain terms by all peace-loving politicians on both sides.

The fact that some politicians from one party have sided with the extremists or fail to condemn their action of inciting violence should tell us something.

Cry, My Beloved Country: This is another example of cynically stoking the fires, giving support to the aggressors, when mature leadership would seek to resolve the matter according to the due process of law.

Ministerial statements speak for themselves, reveal the calibre of people inhabiting the corridors of power and the thrust of their leadership style as the adherence to the rule of law becomes increasingly, cynically and unashamedly selective.

Yes, I fully agree with you that insulting the Agong is very painful, just like the time when Umno called one sultan “binatang” and with a large banner too for the whole world to see.

I guess the Umno Malays themselves did not understand Malay psyche? Way to go, Abdul Rahman Dahlan.

Ben-ghazi: I have been following this 'debate' about Teresa Kok's video, which I have watched, since the video was aired.

I see no insult to Malays in the video. Of course, the target was the Malaysian government which happens to be dominated by Malays, as it is led by Umno, the race-based political party.

It is the duty of opposition parties to criticise the ruling party whenever a wrongdoing is committed. Stop being oversensitive and always looking at things from a racial perspective.

Kok did not mention names, but then as Malays would say, "Siapa makan cili, dia akan berasa pedas."

As things are turning out, I am afraid we are seeing the seeds of another May 13 being sown everyday. Why? Because the PM is completely impotent as he is not providing leadership in reining in his extremist followers from uttering seditious words.

What can you expect from some one who had wanted to soak his kris in some group's blood many years ago? It looks like he is waiting for orders from his boss, Rosmah Mansor.
