All those who reacted angrily to Teresa Kok's ‘Onederful Malaysia CNY 2014’ video clip have one thing in common: they have all fallen into a trap, an MCA leader said today.

The Seputeh MP Teresa Kok scripted the video with the sole purpose of drawing publicity and making herself look like a victim.

And it worked well, MCA English-speaking Bureau chairperson Tan Gim Tuan said.

Although Kok has publicly said that she was unsure why her 'satire' video has drawn such extreme reactions, Tan said he knew the truth.

“Some of the comments and reactions of our MCA leaders in reprimanding the actors in the clip, as well as Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s response , make it clear that we have “fallen flat” into her political trap.

“Her pre-meditated production was all-out for a political motive,” Tan said in a press statement.

‘Slap too Kok’s plan to promote herself’

Tan said Kok’s YouTube clip, which has drawn more than half-a-million views in just two weeks, was no shabby video-making attempt.

"The clip came with a proper written script and screenplay, with specific instructions to the actors on how it is to be acted and filmed," he said.

Even the offer from Malay and Muslim rights groups of RM1,200 as reward for slapping her was all part of Kok’s ambitious plan to promote herself, Tan said.

“Her main aim was to draw strong reaction and fish for some form of extreme racist reaction from certain groups, so as to gain personal publicity.

“This in turn allowed her to be seen as championing public rights,” Tan, who is also MCA Petaling Jaya Utara division chairperson, added.
