The late Dr Hasmah Ali appeared “quite well” just a day before her passing yesterday, revealed her husband, former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
In a video shared on the centenarian’s social media, Mahathir said, “I didn’t expect her to die today (yesterday).
“She was quite well last night (Sunday),” he said, in a brief conversation with Pahang ruler Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, when the former king went to pay his final respects yesterday.
“Allah SWT loves her more,” said Sultan Abdullah (below), who was accompanied by his consort, Tengku Ampuan Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, and son, Pahang Crown Prince Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah.
The former prime minister thanked the royals for travelling from Pahang to offer their condolences and pay their last respects to Hasmah.

“Tun (Mahathir) kena jaga diri (you need to take care of yourself),” Sultan Abdullah added.
Hasmah breathed her last at about 9.25am at the National Heart Institute (IJN) yesterday. She was 100. She was accorded a state funeral and laid to rest at Pusara Negara in Putrajaya.
The couple’s third son, Mokhzani, said yesterday that their family had accompanied her at IJN, where she was in good spirits the night before she died, but her health took a sudden turn for the worse the following day.

Indeed is good for her to passed away with no suffering or pain, probably Dr Hasmah just wanted to leave so as to avoid seeing tear from her loved one.
On one hand I don't want to die, but on the other hand when ( I hope that one day it will be only an "if") I have to, then I'll die like Dr Hasmah-- lived a long, fruitful life, remained well and lucid until the very, very end and the death came very, very quickly. So Dr Hasmah and her family are actually very blessed in this regard.
TDM, you look so sad indeed. But even with the nasal prongs, you do look in-colour and pretty good. Take good care of oneself now and wishing you all the very best. You need to live on and might even get to see a better Malaysia.
