Pakatan reps: Don't place Kidex in local gov't plan

A group of Selangor Pakatan Rakyat assemblypersons have urged the state government to reject any effort to place the controversial Kinrara-Damansara Expressway (Kidex) project under the Petaling Jaya local government plan.
The assemblypersons, led by Bukit Gasing assemblyperson R Rajiv ( left ), urged this in a press conference at the Selangor state legislative assembly lobby today.
Rajiv said the project to build the expressway had been rejected by the Petaling Jaya local councillors.
“The local councilors have rejected it, and we urge Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim to postpone any amendment to the plan relating to Kidex,” he said.
He added that to date, the concession agreement has yet to be made public.
At the same time, the term of concession also seems to be changing from 40 years to 48 years while the toll rates are kept hidden.
"It is not reasonable for all the construction to continue without all these details revealed," he said.
Also at the press conference was Yeo Bee Yin (DAP'S Damansara Utama assemblyperson), Lau Weng San (DAP's Kampung Tunku rep), Haniza Talha (PKR's Taman Medan rep) and Noor Hanim Ismail (PAS' Seri Serdang rep).
