Ridhuan seeks inspiration from Chinese, Indians?

YOURSAY ‘Tee, where did you copy this from? This is not the way you write.’

Emulate Gandhi, Ridhuan tells Umno

Karma: Instead of Umno, controversial academic Ridhuan Tee Abdullah is the one who should discipline himself in not making racist remarks.

Why now look to a Chinese and an Indian for advice? There are many good Malay leaders out there, too.

His own remarks against Chinese had been causing too much hatred and he is not qualified to quote either Confucius or Gandhi. These two fine individuals were not racist. They promoted unity in their respective nations.

The Analyser: It's no coincidence that there are so few Malaysian role models he can quote. And when he did drag one up from the distant past, he couldn't have chosen a less Malaysian/more obnoxious quote to make.

Anon1: Confucius and Gandhi would be turning in their graves for being referred to by this equally ‘famous’ Ridhuan Tee.

Astounded: I am waiting with bated breath for the reaction of Umno leaders to Ridhuan's sermons. Maybe they would not bother to respond. After all, who is Ridhuan?

It is all very well when he rants and rages against non-Malays and non-Muslims, but when it comes to questioning the "true blue" (or shall I say green) who is this turncoat anyway?

Berns: Let's wait and see what Perkasa and Isma comment about a Muslim talking highly about non-Muslims.

Anonymous #40538199: One of the core teachings of Confucius is honouring your ancestor and protecting their good name. I hope Ridhuan will always remember his roots.

AJ: Ridhuan, where did you copy this from? This is certainly not the way you write as it's far more intelligent than your usual drivel.

You are not even quoting the leaders of the Islamic renaissance but a Chinese and an Indian.

Clearly, you cannot find the same in Umno, as to match the intelligence of Confucius and humility of Gandhi is a very tall order after the last good Umno leader, Onn Jaafar, left the gang of wolves.

Caesar: Asking Umno to emulate a Chinese and an Indian! Perkasa and Isma may want him charged with sedition.

Gandhi asked a Hindu family to adopt a Muslim child and bring him up as a true Muslim, and asked a Muslim family to adopt a Hindu child and bring him up as a true Hindu.

He didn't ask them to convert.

4W4K3N1N6: Other than having a Muslim name Ridhuan, this ‘pendatang’ who is ‘naturalised’ by our constitution is lecturing members on who they should emulate? I don't know who to feel sorrier for - the lecturer or the audience.

Appum: You know, for once Ridhuan makes some sense. Maybe he has just awakened from his long nightmare and seeing things as they should be. Maybe Confucius and Gandhi made him see the light? I give it to him this time.

Swipenter: Giving advice like that, you would think that Ridhuan is a member and/or a delegate of Umno Baru speaking in front of those attending the general assembly.

Alas, he cannot be considered and accepted as a Umno Baru member no matter how hard he tries. Why he does not qualify is clear for all to see.

Just Me: This shows that he knows that Umno is rotting and needs a fix.

Dont Just Talk: Ridhuan is lecturing the Malays in Umno Baru, giving them a lesson on Confucius and Gandhi.

As a Muslim, he feels the right to lecture Umno Baru members to battle corruption and reject leaders who are corrupt.

This clown has been rejected by the Chinese community but lectures the Umno Baru Malays instead.

Real Truth: Thanks, Ridhuan for advising Umno to emulate Gandhi and Confucius.

You could also suggest a statue of Gandhi be placed in our Dewan Rakyat so as a reminder to all parliamentarians to follow the footsteps of Gandhi.

Most western Parliaments do have a statue of Gandhi who embodies the simple and honest life, and his famous quote has often been cited, "The world has enough for everyone's need, but not enough for everyone's greed."

Ridhuan should be commended for realising that there are many things one can learn from others.

Vince Lim: I don't have much comment. When it comes to statements made by Ibrahim Ali or Ridhuan, I don't want to waste my time reading their statements.
