Former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad is looking for answers and  seeking the truth behind several issues, said Umno veteran Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah.

Met in Parliament today, the Gua Musang lawmaker and former finance minister added that the truth must be revealed.

"It is high time that real answers are given and for the truth to come out on these things.

"I'm sure he (Mahathir) must have his reasons for saying that," he added when asked to comment on the former premier’s vitriolic attack on Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

The former premier had among others called on the police to investigate who ordered the murder of Altantuya Shaariibuu.

He also said BN and Umno would be defeated in the next general election if Najib continued to be at the helm.

Describing Mahathir as an "old hand", Tengku Razaleigh, who is popularly known as Ku Li, said the former premier knew the ground well.

"He knows how things are run in political organisations.

"In the run-up to GE14, on issues that are not resolved, it is going to be difficult for anyone to get support," he added.
