Umno to identify members in cross protest

Jiminy Qrikert: For the past five years, Umno did nothing to check and punish the racist attacks against the Chinese, Indians, Christians and Hindus.

They did not even bother to caution their members against such despicable behaviour, let alone take action to stop the abuse.                                                  

From desecration of the Holy Eucharist of the Catholics to the stomping of cow heads, burning of a church, invasion of a Hindu temple, insulting both Chinese and Indians as unwelcome invaders, insulting their respective ancestors to riotous protests and physical attacks against their political foes, Umno did nothing to stop these.

After more than 60 months of unchecked rampages against non-Malays and non-Muslims, Umno again spews lies and insincere rubbish about being a multi-ethnic and multi-religious nation.

And Sarawakians will once again swallow it all and vote BN back into power in the state.

Pputeh: "Umno is not involved at all, they can be members of Umno, but Umno did not ask them to do that," said Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.

Just like a father who is responsible for his children and must take the whole blame, so does Umno as these are their members.

Tengku Adnan, you have not schooled your members well and so the blame lies on all the top guns in Umno.

Mob1900: I think it's because of the upcoming Rompin and Permatang Pauh by-elections that we hear such platitudes. On normal days these forms of thuggery are encouraged and almost celebrated by Umno leaders.

RatBatBlue: A few questions to be asked and comments to be made.

1. If Umno deems this wrong, why wait for a police report? They should take immediate action to discipline their members who were involved in this. The police can take criminal action later, if they think it necessary.

2. Why sidestep the issue when asked if the said cross should be re-installed (by throwing the issue back to the Petaling Jaya City Council)?

3. Giving show-cause letters suggests this was some civil dispute or some such minor infraction. For an action deemed liable under the Sedition Act, the issue has been trivialised by Umno.

Indeed, one gets the unfortunate impression that Umno is paying only lip service to the incident.

Fair&Just: We are used to and immune to all these after decades of hammering and bashing literally.

The karmic, universe and divinity world are exerting its natural course of balance and all wrongs shall be make right in due course soon.

Just sit back, pray daily and wait out the spectacular cosmic forces of retribution, poetic justice and just dessert.

BTN: The problem with a party whose existence depends on race championing as their means to exist is that they are always afraid to reprimand their own race even when they do things which are despicable for fear of losing votes.

This inaction encourages these extreme members of theirs to become bolder.

Anonymous_3e06: Can Tengku Adnan (Ku Nan) tell the Malaysians where these people are going to learn tolerance? Will the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) teach them how to be tolerant?

In fact we want to learn how to respect other people and races and culture and religion, not tolerance.

Get real, this is not going to happen with a government that is using race and religion for its own political gain.

Oh Ya?: East Malaysia, especially Sabah, is fast losing its racial unity and religious harmony, with the Umno culture gradually becoming ingrained into its society following the alleged citizenship-for-votes scheme.

And at the same time, they claim to 'save' Malaysians from extremism. Come on, we were not born yesterday.

TC Chan: Malaya is the problem part of Malaysia. It is always about race and religion there. Maybe it should be expelled from Malaysia.

Ku Nan and his breed will lie for the duration necessary to deceive the East Malaysians into yet again returning BN to power to repeat anew all of their abuse and oppression of non-Malays and non-Muslims in Peninsular Malaysia.

This will continue until Umno-BN rule unchallenged in East Malaysia. Then, Umno will export their abuse and oppression to East Malaysia.

Only then will East Malaysians truly experience what we experience here.
