Point taken, Umnoputras can do no wrong, ever

YOURSAY | ‘Or better still, they find a convenient scapegoat to blame - the Chinese.’

Ku Nan: Tajuddin misled by social media, no need for apology

Wg321: Deputy Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Tajuddin Abdul Rahman has an inferiority complex even though he belongs to the master race (ketuanan Melayu).

When he cannot win a point in an argument, he will bash up his opponent, especially the Chinese minority, just to show to the rural Malay that he is a somebody.

All Umno leaders behave exactly like him. They never want the Chinese to feel superior to them through hard work, etc. That is why Tajuddin wanted to slap them in order to uphold Malay dignity by practising mega corruption, rent-seeking, cronyism and kleptocracy.

As far as the Umno Malays are concerned, these are their special privileges.

Trueglitter: It is appropriate to record the rakyat's condemnation and disappointment at the abrasive remarks cum excuses uttered by Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor in defending Tajuddin's threat "to slap the Chinese" should they seek help from China following the objectionable red shirts' menace which had ominously threatened the safety of traders and visitors in Chinatown.

It is regrettable that as a politician of long standing, coupled with the position of secretary-general which he so proud of, the manipulative Tengku Adnan (Ku Nan) has unwittingly shamed himself and Umno leadership for insulting the intelligence of an unforgiving community.

GE14NOW!: When a person makes a mistake, be it a mistake borne of fact or fiction, that offender must apologise and make good the now injured relationship.

The truth of the matter is that often when we say things in anger, we actually utter things that we mean but have not been able to articulate for one reason or another.

To now claim that this was a miscommunication and that an apology is therefore not needed is clearly demonstrative of the lack of culture (or the degree of this person's kurang ajar-ness). But such is the deplorable state of Umno ministers.

I have had to remind myself ever so often that these ministers are there not because of their intelligence or cultured upbringing, but because they are blindly loyal to their chief fund-raiser.

Myrights: The next time, we can say anything we want against another race and blame it on our anger and someone else for misleading us, although, I still have not seen which social media issue Tajuddin was referring to.

Umno leaders make up new excuses every day, and the courts, IGP (inspector-general of police) and AG (attorney-general) will just go along with them.

Ipohcrite: Ku Nan's advice is in line with Umno's policy - Umno leaders do not apologise for whatever they do, even when they are wrong.

They are the tuans of this country, and tuans do not apologise to their underlings, ever. Better still, they find a convenient scapegoat to blame - the Chinese minority.

Swipenter: Even with concrete and indisputable proof, Umno will never apologise to Chinese Malaysians because they are not man enough to do it however brave they are in demonising and defaming the latter intentionally.

In their self-made delusion, Umno cannot be wrong and even if they are wrong, no one can be right. And they think everyone must bow submissively to their idea of ketuanan.

Okeylah: Whether or not Tajuddin had been misled by whoever and whatever, he should apologise to all Chinese Malaysians for uttering such a rude "slap" warning.

This is clearly not the Malay culture that we know. Tengku Adnan's statement is to show off their ‘kekuatan’ and ‘ketuanan’, and he thinks he could just disregard the feeling of their fellow countrymen.

Masu Otaku: If Tajuddin is so easily misled shouldn't he apologise for his stupidity? Shouldn't such stupid ministers resign or maybe even face the sack?

Hytan: Is Umno not reflective of a family with poor moral upbringing where the seniors in the family do not reprimand the family members for misbehaving themselves in the public but instead find excuses to blame others when such incidents are brought to their attention.

Anonymous 122461436161429: If all the stupid Umno leaders shut their mouths, this would be better.

Tajuddin now seeks to blame the media, the opposition, his own BN partner and the world for his racist and rude remark. Of course, being an Umno goon protected by other Umno goons, he will never admit his mistake and apologise.

Ku Nan, being the secondary goon, echoes the primary goon and so it goes on because the leader of the goons allows this while making Facebook statements from his holiday, and by which he thinks is governing.

Come on Malaysia wake up and demand change! We deserve better.

Old Timer: If Tajuddin is so impulsive and inexperienced as to just take up any comments or issues from social media without checking out its truth, and so prone to acting in anger, one really should fear for the country.

He does not know how to check for facts and he’s losing cool when he is supposedly a leader of the governing political party in the country?

At the very least, this is Management 101, let's not even go into intelligence, responsibility, integrity, etc, of a leader.

Speechless: It's bad enough for a deputy minister to act like a thug, it's shameful for a deputy minister to deny what he said despite an audio recording of his remarks.

Myrights: Basically, Ku Nan is saying it is okay to make seditious and extremely racist comments if you feel angry. This is the type of leaders we have. Clearly, double standards.

What are MCA and Gerakan going to do now? As usual, expect them to toe the line drawn by Umno and lie down like a very obedient dog.

Sinner: Tengku Adnan can tell MCA to "stand together" at the cabinet meeting. It's easier to be slapped.

It appears Tajuddin can be easily mislead
