Umno vice-president Hishammuddin Hussein says he is not in the know over who the 'Umno 7' are.

"No," he said curtly when asked if he knew their identities.

The Umno 7 are party leaders whom Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said are under investigation for disciplinary action.

Tengku Adnan said this when asked if any action would be taken against former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad for calling for Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's ouster.

Hishammuddin said disciplinary investigations within the party were normal.

"Everytime the Umno supreme council or the management committee meets, we will discuss the disciplinary committee's investigations," he said.

Hishammuddin said the party leadership would then decide if any action was necessary. The last Umno supreme council meeting was early last month.

Asked if any action should be taken against Mahathir (photo) , who is believed to be one of the Umno 7, Hishammuddin said it was not for him to decide.

"That is up to Umno," he said.

Mahathir is on a warpath against Najib, claiming the prime minister would bring ruin to Malaysia and Umno.
