As the opposition plans to table a motion of no-confidence against Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak in Parliament, a minister has challenged three opposition leaders to resign if the motion is defeated.

Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister Abdul Rahman Dahlan has called on opposition leader Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng to resign from their party posts if the no-confidence vote fails.

"If the no-confidence vote succeeds, PM will step down.

"If it is defeated WA (Wan Azizah), LGE (Lim Guan Eng) & LKS (Lim Kit Siang) must take full responsibility & resign frm their party posts," the Kota Belud MP tweeted this morning.

He said if the three leaders have any honour, they would resign if the vote of no confidence is defeated.

"That shows they can't command the confidence of the opposition MPs," he added.

Rahman said the opposition leaders can't just propose a no-confidence vote and pretend their reputation is not damaged if the vote is defeated.

"I urge the opposition leaders to take the challenge. Resign frm their political posts if NCV (no confidence vote) is defeated. Question is will they have the guts?" stated his tweet.

Wan Azizah agreed to lead the charge by filing a motion for the no- confidence vote against the prime minister after Pakatan Harapan's inaugural presidential council meeting in Parliament on Monday.

Initially, the motion was filed by PKR lawmaker Hee Loy Sian but Guan Eng wanted it revoked and for the motion to be filed by the parliamentary opposition leader instead.
