Kelantan PAS Youth offers to host Husam-Mustafa face-off

Kelantan PAS Youth has expressed its willingness to host a face-off between PAS election director Mustafa Ali and PAS assemblyperson Husam Musa.

This is in relation to Husam’s allegations that Mustafa was among the PAS leaders who met Umno leaders to work towards a merger between the two parties a few years ago.

Mustafa was quoted by Malay daily Sinar Harian as having suggested that the dialogue session should be held in Kota Baru, Kelantan and any quarter could act as the organiser and moderator for the programme.

As such, Kelantan PAS Youth chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari said they were ready to provide the space to ensure that a large number would come for the event.

“This is so that those interested to know about this can have the explanation on the matter directly from the individuals involved," he added in a statement today.

Mustafa yesterday had also suggested for former PAS leader Khalid Abdul Samad to be present for the event as the latter was allegedly one of the PAS leaders who met with the Umno leaders.

“Let all of us be there so that Husam can say what he knows and I can say what exactly had happened if he wants to talk about that 2008 meeting," he said.

Ahmad Fadhli, meanwhile, expressed hope that both Husam and Khalid would agree to attend the event.

“Let’s hope that the event would be beneficial and would erase doubts that PAS had supposedly wanted to be allies with Umno,” he said.

Among his allegations, Husam had said that PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang wanted to work with Umno to set up a unity government in Selangor during the menteri besar crisis last year.

Hadi however denied this and stressed that a unity government with BN would not recur.

Hadi said plans to form a unity government in 2008 did not mean that PAS was joining BN.

He explained that this meant that all parties in both BN and the opposition coalition were to be in the government.
