Indonesian police shot dead four men believed to have been involved in an armed attack on a police beat base outside a mall here that resulted in explosions, according to the Metro Jaya district police.
Its public relations officer, M Iqbal, told reporters at the scene that the police had yet to identify the four men who had staged the attack at the Sarinah Mall.
He said the police shot the suspects at Gedung Cakrawala and by the roadside in the Thamrin area.
However, they could not say whether the suspects were from any militant group or had acted as individuals.
Iqbal said two explosions had occurred in the incident and there had also been gunshots.
