His sudden transfer to the Prime Minister’s Department last year has not cowed former police Special Branch deputy director Hamid Bador.

In a statement today, Hamid said he has done nothing wrong as is willing to go to jail if "the inspector–general of police gets instructions from the sky to arrest" him.

“I am even more resolute when I think of the upcoming Police Day on March 25. I am resolute to sing the police song Polis Sedia Berkhidmat . I will sing this song when I am in the lock-up.

“Everyone has a price for which they can be bought or compromised [...] my price is for those involved to own up and repent,” he said.

He, however, did not name who he is referring to or what this person needs to repent for.

Despite his willingness to go to jail, Hamid said he is confident he did not break any law and has performed his duty as a career police officer as stipulated by the Police Act.

“My role and function was to detect and prevent crime. The law states that I cannot hide information on a crime,” he said.

Hamid was transferred to the Prime Minister’s Department within days of news that then attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail’s contract would be terminated.

Hamid had earlier claimed there were efforts to hid witnesses in the criminal probe against Najib.

Hamid has also urged Gani to spill the beans over circumstances leading up to the termination of his contact.

He said Gani was vocal about the case in his last meeting with him before he was replaced by Apandi.

He added that Gani told him the case was 'crystal-clear'.

The government maintains that Gani was replaced due to 'health reasons'.
