Some 25 protesters from Jaringan Melayu Malaysia (JMM) gathered within the compound of the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex in Jalan Duta today, calling former deputy prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin a traitor.

Initially, they gathered outside the court complex, but were suddenly allowed in by the security.

Armed with loud hailers, the protesters shouted "Muhyiddin petualang" (traitor).

They had gathered at the complex for a divorce proceeding involving lawyer and former senior DPP Stanley Clement Augustin and Nika Gee.

Mohd Ali Baharom, better known as Ali Tinju, was among the protesters.

The group sat on the court steps at the lobby and began calling for Muhyiddin's destruction.

They claimed Muhyiddin was a liar, and accused him of being unwilling to explain his alleged affair with a married woman.

At about 11 am, plainclothes and uniformed police pulled the protesters apart and arrested them, before leading them to a black police truck and white police van.

Sentul OCPD Assistant Commissioner R Munusamy confirmed the arrests under the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012.

“More than 10 of the protesters were picked up and now they are being brought to the Sentul OCPD.

“They had been given ample warning as we warned them three times for them to disperse and not disrupt the court proceedings,” he said.

Ali was not among those arrested as he had already left the premises.

He had earlier called on Muhyiddin to tell the truth about the alleged affair, saying that JMM is willing to organise and pay for an event to allow Muhyiddin to explain himself.

"If Najib (Abdul Razak) can answer all the allegations against him why not Muhyiddin, the so-called pious leader," he said.

Meanwhile, inside the High Court, judge Siti Mariah Ahmad fixed Sept 6 for case management as Gee had appointed Choo Dee Wei and Brian Ng as her new lawyers just yesterday.

The two lawyers, along with Augustin's lawyer S Periasamy met Justice Siti Mariah in her chambers on the matter.

When approached by reporters, none of the three lawyers wanted to comment over a purported statutory declaration made by Augustin.

“We have been told that you may ask about it, but we have no comment at this time,” Choo told reporters.

Augustin had purportedly claimed in the SD that Gee had a relationship with Muhyiddin since the latter was Johor menteri besar.

The document also claimed that Muhyiddin’s wife was aware of this affair and had put a ban on Gee.

Muhyiddin has denied such allegations, and described claims made by JMM as untrue and slanderous.
