The government has withdrawn a motion to suspend Lim Lip Eng (DAP-Segambut) for insulting Speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia.

The government has withdrawn a motion to suspend Lim Lip Eng (DAP-Segambut) for insulting Speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia.
This came after the usually hot-headed Lim told the House that he was ready to retract his remarks.
"I am ready to retract my harsh statements against the speaker," Lim said.
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Azalina Othman Said then said that Pandikar had relayed to her that he was willing to accept an apology from Lim.
"I was informed that the speaker is willing to accept if Segambut makes a public apology, and hence the government will withdraw the motion," Azalina said to cheers from the other lawmakers.
She then asked Lim to thank Pandikar, which he did.
The motion to suspend the DAP lawmaker was brought about after his continuous attacks against the speaker.
Among others, Lim had said that Pandikar was a disgrace to Parliament, and had questioned the latter's ruling to block oral questions regarding the US Department of Justice 1MDB-linked probe.
However in a press conference in the Parliament lobby immediately after, Lim was evasive when asked if he would apologise to Pandikar.
"I retract the harsh words I said. I thank Pandikar."
He also said that the reason he retracted his statement was because he wanted to stay in Parliament to fight for the people.
