PAS vice-president Iskandar Abdul Samad said the Islamist party's relationship with PKR is still strong.

He said there was no discussion to review the co-operation at the recent PAS central committee meeting.

"No one said anything about cutting ties with PKR," Iskandar, who is also Selangor executive council member, said.

"Discussions are normal, we can discuss many things but PAS' relationship with PKR now is very strong. PAS has a strong relationship with the state government. There is no problem," he told reporters at PKR's Chinese New Year event in Kuala Lumpur.

This followed a motion to discuss whether to leave the Selangor government, which is made up of PAS, PKR and DAP, at the upcoming muktamar (PAS general assembly).

PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang reportedly said his party could decide to sever ties with any of its allies who work with DAP and Amanah.

PKR is part of the tripartite Pakatan Harapan, alongside DAP and PAS splinter party Amanah.

Pakatan Harapan was founded after the break up of Pakatan Rakyat, with Amanah taking PAS' place in the new opposition pact.

Iskandar last Friday said it is unlikely that PAS would decide to leave the Selangor government.

The Selangor state cabinet is made up of three PAS members, three DAP members and five PKR members, led by PKR deputy president Azmin Ali.

The event today was also attended by PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and party vice-president Tian Chua.
