The Malaysia International Healthcare (MIH) Megatrends 2025 continues to advance national conversations on inclusive, sustainable and future-ready healthcare, bringing together healthcare leaders and experts to address evolving system challenges.
Organised by the Ministry of Health Malaysia in collaboration with KPJ Healthcare Berhad, the 3-day conference focuses on Public Health, Sustainability and Non-Communicable Diseases, reinforcing the importance of practical, system-wide approaches to strengthen healthcare delivery.

Apart from the scheduled sessions with distinguished speakers across the three halls at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, KPJ also organised side events with its partners. On the first day, KPJ reinforced its rooftop solar initiative through the exchange of Phase 2 Letters of Award with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and its subsidiary, GSPARX Sdn Bhd. This milestone marks the continued expansion of rooftop solar deployment across KPJ hospitals, supporting the Group’s long-term decarbonisation goals and contributing to the broader sustainability agenda highlighted at MIH.
Another key highlight at MIH 2025 was the launch of the Buku Poket Kesihatan Bahasa Isyarat Malaysia, developed through the collaboration between KPJ Healthcare and the Malaysian Federation of the Deaf. The pocket guide supports clearer communication between healthcare professionals and the Deaf community and reflects ongoing efforts to improve accessibility and patient safety across healthcare settings.

Day Two of MIH Megatrends 2025 also featured thought leadership sessions by recognised specialists, including Dr Naseem Ghazali, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon from NHS United Kingdom, and Prof Hoon Sang Lee, Chief Strategy Officer for Research Investment at the Global Health Technology Foundation. Discussions explored AI in clinical practice, hospital digitalisation and future-ready care models, with speakers sharing grounded perspectives on strengthening Malaysia’s healthcare ecosystem.

The day also saw the Grand Finale of the KRAFT Challenge 2025 under the KPJ Health System. The Open Category was won by KPJ Pahang Specialist Hospital for its project “Mini Vigo”, which improves surgical count efficiency to enhance patient safety. The University Category title went to Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) for “HomeHaven RX”, an end-to-end medication management system supporting safer prescribing and improved continuity of care. The challenge highlighted the role of innovation and talent development in shaping more efficient healthcare delivery.

MIH Live+ continued to extend the conference’s reach through digital interviews with selected speakers and key opinion leaders such as Prof Dr Tunku Kamarul Zaman Tunku Zainol Abidin, Vice Chancellor of KPJ Healthcare University, Dr Fauziah Hasan, Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital, Dr Shirley Koeh, a Functional Medicine doctor and medical doctor Dr Amanda Elli, offering accessible insights into emerging clinical trends and healthcare practices.

The conference continues tomorrow with further expert sessions and public engagement programmes.
