KUALA LUMPUR, 28 November 2025 – The Malaysia International Healthcare (“MIH”) Megatrends 2025 concluded at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre yesterday, marking three days of focused dialogue that strengthened national direction on how technology, system reform and inclusive care models must align to improve healthcare delivery for the future.
Over the course of the conference, discussions deepened practical understanding of how artificial intelligence can support clinical decision-making, how digital integration can improve continuity of care and how sustainable approaches can reinforce long-term system resilience. These sessions provided healthcare leaders and practitioners with clearer perspectives on navigating rising complexity and evolving demands within the healthcare landscape.

Chin Keat Chyuan, President and Managing Director of KPJ Healthcare, said MIH Megatrends 2025 had provided meaningful direction for the next phase of healthcare advancement. He commented, “MIH Megatrends 2025 has reinforced the importance of building a healthcare system that is not only responsive to present needs, but also anchored in long-term capability and resilience. At KPJ Healthcare, this direction is driven through the KPJ Health System, where clinical practice, education and research are integrated to strengthen standards of care, expand specialised services and support the continuous development of our healthcare professionals. Guided by our Care for Life purpose, we remain focused on translating knowledge into practice, nurturing talent and advancing scalable solutions that contribute to better patient outcomes and a more sustainable healthcare ecosystem for Malaysia and the region.”

Organised by the Ministry of Health Malaysia in collaboration with KPJ Healthcare, MIH Megatrends 2025 brought together policymakers, healthcare professionals, academics and industry leaders from 25 to 27 November to address key priorities including public health, sustainability, non-communicable diseases and system transformation. The exchange of perspectives reinforced the importance of scalable, patient-focused solutions in strengthening healthcare preparedness.
The closing ceremony featured the presentation of awards by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Health Malaysia, Yang Berbahagia Dato’ Sri Suriani binti Dato’ Ahmad, alongside the Chairman of KPJ Healthcare Berhad, Yang Berbahagia Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr Ismail Bakar, recognising excellence through the MIH Scientific Poster Competition and the KRAFT Challenge 2025. These recognitions highlighted the importance of innovation and talent development in shaping a more resilient and future-ready healthcare system.

During the ceremony, KPJ Healthcare also announced the KPJ ASEAN Clinical Fellowship Programme 2026, a structured observership-based initiative for ASEAN doctors offering guided clinical exposure in selected specialised disciplines through supervised hospital placements. The programme strengthens regional clinical capability while supporting professional development and cross-border knowledge exchange.
KPJ Healthcare further formalised three Memoranda of Understanding at MIH Megatrends 2025 to expand its international reach in healthcare services and education. Partnerships with FJR Mediterranean Healthcare Investment Group will explore cooperation in sterile services and renal dialysis operations in Saudi Arabia, while KPJ Healthcare University will collaborate with Elite Academy on structured training, certification and research initiatives to strengthen healthcare talent development.
