Allianz Malaysia Berhad’s (Allianz Malaysia) corporate social responsibility arm, together with its social partner Yayasan Kajian dan Pembangunan Masyarakat (YKPM) is seeing encouraging progress among participants of the Orang Asli Sustainable Livelihood Green Economy Programme (programme).

Since 2024, the programme aims to empower Orang Asli communities in Pekan, Pahang, to learn, build, and lead self-sustaining social enterprises through agroforestry, while strengthening food security and enabling them to rise above the poverty threshold.

Following a strategic expansion into a new phase started in August 2025, the programme has extended its reach to 70 farmers from 42 households and positively impacting 1,318 villagers across six villages. This new phase provides an enhanced foundation through collective farming practices, more centralised infrastructure, efficient logistics, broader income-generating opportunities, as well as leadership and community development initiatives.

As of January 2026, the initiative has empowered 42 Orang Asli families on generating substantial income, alongside continued investments in infrastructure development to support long-term sustainability.

Allianz Malaysia Chief Executive Officer, Sean Wang said, “At Allianz Malaysia, we believe true empowerment happens when communities are given the tools, confidence and opportunities to lead their own progress. Through this programme, we are proud to walk alongside the Orang Asli community as they build sustainable livelihoods that can support their families and future generation.”

YPKM Managing Director, Kon Onn Sein said, “The financial funding from Allianz Malaysia enables YKPM to deepen our support to the Orang Asli community to be self-sustaining and grow into economy of scale. The funding also enables us to build a systematic and sustainable programme and process that leads to the upliftment of poverty and social transformation of the Orang Asli community.”
