As Malaysia prepares for the landmark 2027 School Curriculum shift, education leaders gathered at Sekolah Tinta last Saturday, 14 February 2026, to share proactive strategies and insights designed to support parents and young learners ahead of the national enrolment opening on Sunday, 15 February 2026.

The sharing session focused on the positive evolution of Malaysia’s primary education landscape. While the Ministry of Education (MOE) continues to refine the national framework, private schools are stepping forward to provide a safe space for six-year-olds entering Year 1.

Empowering Parents with Confidence

With the MOE idMe Portal officially opened for registration on 15 February, the forum served as a vital touchpoint for parents seeking to understand the cognitive benefits of early enrolment.

“This transition is a milestone for our education system. By focusing on a character-driven and play-integrated curriculum for the younger students, we are aligning with global best practices,” said Puan Zaliza Alias, Early Childhood Specialist and Founder of Genius Aulad.

A Holistic Approach to Learning

Sekolah Tinta showcased its commitment to MOE’s 2027 vision by highlighting its integrated educational model, which blends STEM-based learning with strong Islamic values. The curriculum is further enriched by the Dual Language Programme (DLP) and Project-Based Learning (PBL), ensuring students develop critical thinking and real-world problem-solving skills from an early age.

“We see the 2027 enrolment as an opportunity to innovate,” said Puan Zalina Zakaria, Principal of Sekolah Tinta. “By maintaining a focused 1:25 teacher-student ratio and utilizing immersive, project-based approaches, we ensure that every child receives the personalised attention needed  to build emotional, academic, and spiritual foundations during this crucial year.”

A Collaborative Path Forward

The session concluded with a pledge to continue supporting MOE’s objectives. Sekolah Tinta and the GAINS Education Group will be compiling a "Parent’s Readiness Guide" based on the discussions to be shared with the Ministry. This initiative aims to provide constructive feedback from the ground to ensure the 2027 curriculum implementation is a resounding success for all Malaysian families.

“We are all stakeholders in our children's future. Today’s dialogue proves that when educators and parents work together, we create a roadmap for success that complements the national agenda,” Puan Zalina added.
