NILAI, 30 April 2026 — Maaedicare Charitable Foundation (Yayasan Amal Maaedicare) today launched its third Klinik Amal Percuma in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, marking a strategic expansion of its community-based primary healthcare model for Malaysia’s economically-disadvantaged households.
Established in partnership with the Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRCS), the Nilai clinic represents an evidence-led continuation of Maaedicare’s approach to care—anchored in early detection, clinical rigour, and continuity of treatment.
Since 2023, the model has already reached more than 8,176 patients through its first two clinics in Kuala Lumpur and Ipoh respectively, and many of whom presented with previously undiagnosed or poorly controlled chronic conditions.

Maaedicare Charitable Foundation Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Anne Rajasaikaran said the Nilai community reflects the very populations the Foundation was established to serve.
“Many of the patients who visit our clinics are living with silent conditions—hypertension, early diabetes—without knowing it. By the time they reach tertiary care, the disease has often progressed significantly.
“Our free clinics allow us to intervene earlier: detecting risk, initiating treatment, and reducing the financial toxicity that too often causes families experiencing financial hardship to delay care until it is too late.
“In communities such as Nilai, those most at risk are often the least likely to seek care—not because of reluctance, but because each consultation carries a cost they cannot consistently absorb. Our clinics remove that barrier. What it provides is not just access, but dignity, continuity, and the confidence for individuals to take control of their health.
“Reaching over 8,176 patients through our first two clinics has validated this model. Nilai is the natural next step in scaling that impact,” she said at the clinic launch today.
Maaedicare Charitable Foundation Chairman, Tunku Dato’ Yaacob Khyra positioned the initiative within the broader national healthcare landscape.
“Access to healthcare alone is not enough—what matters is when and how care is delivered. By placing primary care directly within communities like Nilai, we are shifting the paradigm from reactive treatment to proactive health management. This is how we reduce the long-term national burden of chronic disease—by acting earlier, closer to the patient, and with greater continuity.

“The outcomes from our first two clinics demonstrate that community-based models can deliver measurable impact at scale. As an NGO, Maaedicare is uniquely positioned to complement the public healthcare system—piloting solutions that are agile, preventive, and replicable.
“Ultimately, this is about building a healthcare ecosystem that is not only accessible, but resilient,’’ he noted.
Operating Monday to Saturday from 9:00am to 1:00pm on a walk-in basis, the Nilai free clinic provides:
Free consultations and point-of-care screening, including blood pressure monitoring, blood glucose testing, and kidney function assessment
Structured chronic disease management, with longitudinal follow-up for patients diagnosed with diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease (CKD), and cardiovascular conditions
Evidence-based lifestyle counselling, including dietary guidance using the Quarter-Quarter-Half (QQH) method, smoking cessation support, and medication adherence coaching
By removing financial and logistical barriers, the clinic enables earlier presentation and intervention—particularly among working adults—helping to shift care upstream and reduce avoidable strain on public hospitals and tertiary facilities.
The Nilai clinic is the third in Maaedicare’s planned nationwide network of Klinik Amal Percuma, with additional locations currently in development.

The launch was attended by Her Highness Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz binti Almarhum Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, the Tunku Temenggong of Kedah and National Chairperson of the Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC), MRC Secretary-General Dato' Danial Iskandar Bin Abdul Rahman, Maaedicare’s board, clinical and leadership teams, corporate partners, and community stakeholders.
