Taylor's will host its inaugural Taylor's International Accounting Day Festival 2022 (TIADF'22) on November 10, 2022 at Taylor's Lakeside Campus in Subang Jaya.

TIADF'22 is a full-day event supported by the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), designed to honour the professional advisory community while also reflecting on 2021/2022 with key industry influencers.

“The past couple of years have been arduous to say the least – from the pandemic to the economic challenges around the world. These episodes, among others, contribute to the many factors that accountants and financial professionals today are working harder than ever to ensure economic growth and stability are maintained and consistent. As we reflect on the past year, we would like to recognise and celebrate the outstanding contribution of these professionals in Malaysia to the country's socioeconomic progress on International Accounting Day with TIADF’22 whilst providing a platform for others to also understand the important roles they play to the development of a nation’s economy and development," said Jason Lo, Head of School for School of Professional Studies, Taylor's College.

The festival will host four main activities throughout the day including Accounting Conference, Corporate Festival Booth, Inter-school accounting competition finals and Taylor’s Accountant Recognition ceremony.

Themed “Renew, Refresh, Reinvent – The New Hybrid Accountant & Workplace”, the accounting conference will cover topics such as Role of Professional Accountants in The ESG-Driven World, Embracing Hybrid Working - An Evolving Workplace / Impact of Remote Working on Knowledge Transfer, and Digital Technology to Outweigh the Inflation Rate.

Each session will feature an impressive panel of industry leaders and experts such as Datuk Bazlan Osman, President of Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) to address some of the most pressing issues confronting accounting and finance professionals today.

"Understanding the various skills required of future accountants in developing sustainable economic growth has the potential to make advisors' roles easier and provide them with a competitive advantage in this ever-changing market. This is the foundation for what we hope to contribute to this thriving industry," continued Jason.

Additionally, TIADF’22 will also host a corporate festival booth – offering attendees with over 20 booths presenting fascinating activities featuring corporate accounting and financial enterprises from across the world such as The Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (MICPA x CA ANZ); GoKudos, and TraTax.

As part of Taylor's commitment to nurturing an interest in accounting among youths, high school students who are taking part in the festival’s inter-school accounting competition will also compete at the semi-final and grand finals category as they contend for the championship title to bring home the RM5,000 cash prize. MIA & Taylor's Academics will take on the role of the competition’s judges to evaluate the students’ capabilities in their analytical, communication, and teamwork skills to solve real-life business problems for the competition.

Other than this, the festival will also include Taylor’s Accountants of the Year Recognition Award – a commemorative ceremony to recognise and celebrate the professionals who have made a significant impact on the profession.
