Kao Malaysia is once again making a lasting social impact with the Laurier Cares Movement, returning for Raya 2025 in collaboration with Ibupreneur.

Inspired by last year’s positive community response and the resilience of participating mothers, Laurier expanded beyond one-time donations into sustainable empowerment—this time with support from Magiclean.

Tan Poh Ling, Vice President (Marketing) of Kao Malaysia said, “The decision to continue the Laurier Cares Movement in partnership with Ibupreneur for Raya 2025 was driven by our shared commitment to creating a lasting, meaningful impact, particularly in empowering women and supporting vulnerable communities.

Celebrating Empowerment and Community

A total of RM14,000 worth of Kao products and daily item donations to 50 mothers in need.

Ibupreneur’s Raya Open House 2025 marked a significant milestone as it celebrated its second year of fostering unity, empowerment, and gratitude. Held at Ibupreneur TTDI, and in collaboration with KAO Malaysia, Laurier, and Magiclean, the event also commemorated impactful partnerships in supporting entrepreneurial mothers.

Esteemed guests, including Yamazaki Hirobumi, President of KAO Malaysia, Aida Zunaidi, The CEO of Ibupreneur, Cynthia Song, The Category Manager (Sanitary) of KAO Malaysia, Carisse Khoo, The Category Manager (Household) of KAO Malaysia and Jenny Yong, Marketing Support and Procurement of KAO Malaysia  were present at the event, which showcased a significant donation ceremony reflecting KAO Malaysia’s continued support for Ibupreneur’s mission to empower women.

The event, themed "
Sharing Love, Spreading Hope," saw the heartfelt distribution of thoughtfully curated gift packs filled with essential sanitary and household items, benefiting 50 mothers.

Empowering Women Through Business

For Aida Zunaidi, CEO and Co-Founder of Ibupreneur, the heart of the initiative lies in empowering women—particularly retirees, single mothers, and those from marginalised communities.

“We believe that these mothers have so much untapped potential. Through Ibupreneur, we provide them with education, entrepreneurial skills, and a platform to sell their products,” she said.

Through a 13-module training program covering product development, branding, marketing, and financial management, participants gain the tools to achieve financial independence.

Tan Poh Ling further elaborated, “The initiative goes beyond traditional charity by equipping women, especially mothers, with practical, real-world skills through the Ibupreneur Academy. These workshops focus on building confidence and independence, from business knowledge to digital tools, enabling women to become tech-savvy micro-entrepreneurs.

”With the added support of Magiclean, the movement aims to reach more communities, ensuring that women across different backgrounds have the resources and support needed to create a better future for themselves and their families.

Among the many inspiring stories, Aida highlights one of their alumni who opened her own bakery shop and went from earning RM200 on the side to making RM4,000 a month selling homemade kuih. Another participant, who had taken a  13-year career break to care for her child, reignited her entrepreneurial passion and now earns up to RM12,000 monthly from home.

Sustainable Impact, One Woman at a Time
Kao Malaysia's long-term goal for the Laurier Cares Movement is to continuously support women on their empowerment journey. The initiative, in collaboration with Ibupreneur, is not just a campaign but a promise to create lasting change. Building on the success and positive community feedback from previous years, Laurier plans to scale the movement and deepen community engagement.

The inclusion of Magiclean in 2025 signifies a strategic expansion, increasing both brand support and the movement's reach. At its core, Laurier Cares is about real impact, and Kao Malaysia remains committed to extending its efforts to even more communities in the future.

Together, they aim to build a continuous ecosystem of empowerment, ensuring women have the tools and opportunities to thrive and spreading hope, one woman at a time.
