Why we need to keep the state out of our bedrooms
The brouhaha in our tabloids over Azalina Othman's alleged lesbianism brings to mind Orwell's
1984
in which the state has entered into the most private domain of the citizen-subject. As it is, our laws already criminalise a long list of intimate, consensual and private sexual acts.
