Dr Mahathir and street demonstrations

On April 29, 2014, Dr Mahathir Mohamad said this in his blog under the title ‘Street Demonstrations’:
How to peacefully and lawfully change the BN gov’t

For many people, the thought of changing the Barisan Nasional government seems to create an atmosphere of rebellion or violence, or feelings to that effect. We seem to have the notion that changing the Barisan Nasional government is a bad and negative thing and that it would seem being not loyal and to a certain extent, ungrateful even. In fact, some would think that having this very discussion on this topic would be in violation of some law or another.
All bad things, too, must come to an end

All bad things, too, must come to an end

They say all good things must come to an end. I wonder why not enough emphasis is given to the other end of the spectrum where all bad things, too, come to an end.

Public accountability of the public prosecutor in Malaysia

An important part of public confidence in justice is confidence in the arrangements for prosecuting offenders. People want the assurance of a system which is fair, objective and effective; that is as transparent as possible; and that takes proper account of the needs of victims.

When my late mother was diagnosed with stage four cancer three months ago, it took all of my family members by surprise. Spending more budget on crime not the solution

It is funny (well, not really) that as Malaysians, we go by our daily lives being subjected to fear of criminal elements surrounding us.

What this means is that we are constantly looking behind our backs in everything we do, from going to the ATM at night, to walking home through the park, to the thought of leaving our children unattended in public for just a few seconds, to driving alone at night, to leaving our handphones on the table at the mamak stall, and even to just simply taking out our wallets in public. We are just constantly on the edge.
