Suaram expresses grave concerns on another batch of Sri Lankans arrested for suspicion of having links with the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). The four were arrested by the Bukit Aman Special Branch Counter Terrorism Division on July 4, 2014 at different locations in Serdang, Sentul, Sungai Besi and central Kuala Lumpur.

Suaram strongly condemns the secret forced deportation of two refugees and one asylum seeker from Sri Lanka yesterday by the government and putting all three of them at risk at the hand of Sri Lankan government. The two refugees recognised by the office of the United Nations High Commission on Refugee (UNHCR) in Kuala Lumpur are Mr Kirubaharan and Mr Kirubanathan, while Mr Gushanthan’s asylum application is in the process of being considered by the UNHCR.

COMMENT 20 years have passed, and there has been no changes to their demand. The hope and struggle still remains.
