Tabung Haji operations manager Abdul Karim Samad says the pilgrims would arrive at KL International Airport at 9.15pm (Malaysian time) today.

The Lembaga Tabung Haji’s Customer Service Unit has rescued 186 Malaysian pilgrims who lost their way after performing prayers at the Grand Mosque in Mecca between Sept 26 and Oct 2.

The first batch of 312 Malaysian pilgrims arrived in Mecca from Medina early today.

Malaysian pilgrims have been advised not to overexpose themselves to direct sunlight due to the extreme hot weather. 

Lembaga Tabung Haji has converted an apartment in Medina into a temporary 24-bed hospital equipped with a pharmacy and physiotherapy facilities.

Some 2,280 pilgrims out of a total of 28,000 from Malaysia for the Haj in Mecca, the fifth tenet of Islam, have arrived in Medina.

A mother who was accompanying her daughter for treatment was killed after the ambulance they were travelling in lost control.
