Together, they will share their journey, challenges and viewpoints on expanding their respective industry in the tech space. Karamjit Singh, CEO, Digital News Asia will be speaking to:

Ben Teh, CSO, redONE Network Sdn Bhd 

Ben Teh graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning in 2000. He began his career in sales soon after and was involved in the mobile business ever since. Ben developed a strong network of resellers and became Celcom’s most successful enterprise partner reseller. Ben went on to acquire majority shares in REDtone Mobile and rebranded it as redONE and rapidly grew the company to 1.2 million subscribers today. But it doesn’t stop here, Ben has ambitious sales expansion plans for redONE. He envisions the company generating RM1 billion annual revenue in the near future.

Khairul Anwar M. Zaki, CEO, Pandai

Khairul is an engineering & economics graduate of Purdue University, USA. He also holds Data Science certification & an MBA. Since 2007, Khairul has founded several companies, mostly in the technology & education sectors. Khairul is an alumnus of Y Combinator, the most prestigious startup accelerator programme, based in San Fransisco, USA. Now, Khairul spends most of his capacity as the founder & CEO of Pandai. Pandai is an app helps schools students (aged 7 to 17) learn & improve their grades in school. Launched in 2020, Pandai has now secured more than RM10M in funding, from global investors from Silicon Valley, New York, Europe, India, and Southeast Asia.

Mohammad Hazani Hj. Hassan, Chairman, Malaysian Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (MVCA)

Hazani currently oversees the management of various funds at MTDC. Prior to that, he was Principal of Kumpulan Modal Perdana Sdn. Bhd (KMP). Hazani has vast experiences in fund management, venture capital and technology transfer, having been involved in the industry for more than twenty-five years both locally and internationally. He spent three years working for a venture capital fund in Silicon Valley. Previously, he was in charge of the business accelerator operation of Plug & Play Technology Management and involved in a local microchip design initiative. Currently, he is the Chairman of Malaysian Venture Capital Association (MVCA) and sit on a numbers of BoD of MTDC’s investee companies. Before joining MTDC in 1993, he was the Section Head of Engineering at Omron (M) Sdn Bhd and Assistant Research Officer at SIRIM Berhad. Hazani holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from California State University at Sacramento.
