The release of Hindraf members from ISA is not for covering up the mess in Perak. Do not for a second think that BN is able to feel sorry or regret over any wrongdoings. The leaders can rob the country of billions of ringgit; they can arrest anyone under ISA and do anything they want without a blink of an eye.

Why do you think they need to cover up the mess in Perak? Name one mess from the days of BMF (Bumiputra Malaysia Finance) scandal to Sabah coup to submarine scandal to PKFZ (Port Klang Free Zone) to the Perak fiasco, that the government felt is has to do good to counter the damage done. In actual fact, they get bolder after.

BN leaders take corrective actions only when their own positions are in danger. The release of ISA detainees is actually to save Najib's premiership. Do not forget how ex-PM Abdullah Badawi was pushed down by the current leaders. The main reason used was the lost in Permatang Pauh by-election.

If Najib continue to lose more by-elections, someone in Umno will ask him to step down too. You live by the sword, you die by the sword.

Malaysians can't get him to step down but Umno members can. Therefore, among those to be released is Manoharan who is planning to resign his Kota Alam Shah state assembly seat for a by-election to be called.

In my opinion, BN leaders only wanted to release Manoharan to protect their ego and to deceive Malaysians, they make it appear like this release is not about Manoharan only.

"I will sign the papers now. I expect them to be released in two or three days," Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein told a press conference. Can you see that the Home Minister is moving at an extraordinary speed because Manoharan will be having a meeting with DAP chairperson Karpal Singh on May 19 at the Kamunting detention camp to make the official decision.

Then, why suddenly not a single BN people call for Elizabeth Wong to resign from her Bukit Lanjan seat? They were all going for her blood before and there is a complete silence now. It is the paranoia of walking into more by-elections that will jeopardise the position of the PM and the government of the day.

So, the release of the ISA detainees or rather Manoharan is all because Najib cannot withstand any more by-elections before he end up to be the shortest serving prime minister of Malaysia.
