Bar Council's disciplinary board needs to buck up

I am disappointed and embarrassed to note that the police, MACC and the disciplinary board of the Bar Council have shirked their duties that could have prevented the Sosilawati murders.

If these three bodies had been sincere and dealt seriously with the cheating report made by the businessman and his lawyer against the the two concerned lawyers, then those two would have been barred and jailed more than ten years back.

The government should look into this matter seriously and take disciplinary action against the disciplinary board of the Bar Council and investigate the cause for deficiency in taking proper action on the cheating report made against the two lawyers ten years back to the police and the MACC .

The disciplinary board of the Bar Council had dismissed two complaints of mine, one regarding a legal document and another a constituted court law .The legal document was stamped in court yet two lawyers discarded this fact in a sale and purchase transaction.

The chief justice had stressed his point in law in a reply letter to a complaint made to him by me on the constituted law in a legal matter which was discarded in court.

The disciplinary board dismissed these two complaints leaving the lawyers free to use and discard court laws according to their whims and fancies.

I have noted in my experience that the police evade reports against lawyers as I was told in one police station in KL that they cannot take reports against lawyers because the police are in fear of being sued by lawyers. Hopefully, the MACC is not with this impression too.
