True, in the last 11 months or so, Team B of MCA led by Lim Ah Lek, Chua Jui Meng and Ong Tee Keat have been making many headlines for themselves at the party's expense. It is sad that until now, they are still unable to come out with any concrete reform programmes for the party. What are they fighting for?

MCA grassroot members and the Chinese community are not interested in the legality or illegality of meetings, or how many phantom members are there (if any as claimed) in the membership list of MCA. These technical issues are of concern only to top leaders who want to contest the posts. They are not important to those of us who are not contesting.

What we want to know is what reforms Team B would bring to all, including the Chinese community, if they are elected into powers in the party. Can they do better than the incumbent leadership headed by Ling Liong Sik? Can Team B promise to build more institutions of higher learning like Ling has done remarkably?

Are they going to sell off all the newspapers now under the control of MCA for 'press freedom' ? What about the plight of many Chinese primary schools? What about the lack of these schools in congested urban centres?

Would Team B press BN for more parliamentary and state seats to be allocated to MCA in the coming general elections? Would it continue to press for the return of the post of chief ministership from Gerakan in Penang? Would they press BN for more business opportunities for the Chinese communities?

Team B must answer these substantive questions before it can convince delegates to vote for them. Otherwise, they should just pack up and join Gerakan or Umno peacefully. MCA does not need trouble-makers who are Nato (No Action, Talk Only).
