The UN report that points to Barisan Nasional's ideological sympathy to terrorists — much protested by our own government — is merely a reflection of BN's own hypocrisy. While it continues to clamp down on Kumpulan Mujahidin Malaysia, Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad spouts nonsense like Palestinian terrorism is justified, if Iraq is attacked so should Israel, etc.

Why are so many terrorists — Malaysians and non-Malaysians — showing up on our shores? The fact is they perceive Malaysian as a sanctuary. From easy immigration requirements, to funds to support their cause, Malaysia is a haven.

BN, though multiracial, fundamentally mixes religion and politics — the same belief shared by Islamic terrorists. It is hence not surprising that the terrorists think they can hide and operate in Malaysia.

The labelling by the UN resolution based on the book Inside Al Qaeda by Sri Lankan writer Rohan Gunaratna, rightly or wrongly, is a reflection of BN's own hypocrisy. BN and Umno should themselves reflect on this.
