The 'closely fought' election held recently in Iraq where there was only one candidate was certainly very interesting.

Incumbent President Saddam Hussein won the election hands down with 100 percent of over 11 million voters voting for him. The 100 percent voter turnout must also be a record of sorts.

During the election, every polling station had two boxes. One box was for votes for the president. The other box was for voters who did not vote for the president.

Honestly, it was all very democratic — you freely make your choice. You are for the government or against it. Just like in Malaysia.
