More money for English lessons
The farce created by politicians in their bid to find a solution to the teaching of Mathematics and Science in English in all schools from next year is so funny it hurts. I can't help but point out the obvious — just add or improve English lessons.
Chinese schools are already doing a good job in the teaching of Mathematics and Science. It is well known that many Chinese students take tuition in English. The trick now is to improve the English standards. So just give them money to improve/add English classes whenever they want.
The classes can have a heavy dose of material about Maths and Science but the point is not to repeat material already taught. That way, there is no increased burden, parents save tuition money and Chinese schools will be happy because their students will even be better educated than before.
