Like KL Hulk and Resident , I am also fed up with Puas. Like every resident in Subang Jaya, I have to install water filters at the mains. As the 'treated' water has of late become even more yellow, I have resorted to another cheaper method of installing a second water filter prior to the kitchen tap where water is used for cooking and drinking. Many others in Subang Jaya have now purchased bigger five feet high water filters that cost thousands of ringgit.

KL Hulk's and Residents experience are but results of crony capitalism and we the rakyat are the victims. We can say 'no' at the next general elections as suggested by Residents, and we should, but little will change in terms of getting clean water.

I suggest every resident sent their dirty filters - which I incidentally change every two weeks - to Puas office and enclose a bill for the water filters which we have to buy. I have thought of doing that many times, and I think I will next week when I have to yet again change my filter element!

The irony of it is that Singapore buys raw water from Johor, perhaps the same water that comes into our homes and the residents of Singapore get cleaner water then us in Malaysia. Johor buys back this clean water from Singapore and I am sure water filters do not sell as well in Johor. One now wonders why the cancer rate in Malaysia is now 25 percent of the population.

Give us back our clean water and clean air!
