I visited the Petaling Jaya IC office on Saturday, July 12 and was a bit confused, amused and flabbergasted all at the same time.

There is a noticeboard in front of the entrance to the ground floor office which says that one should collect the application form from the ground floor. However in actual fact, form filling is no longer necessary. No one has seen fit to rectify this as it is just a waste of time for someone who does not know to go and ask for a form and be told one is not necessary. I am not sure of officials at JPN but I am sure that the public does not have much time to waste.

Also, apparently I learnt that to get a temporary IC endorsed, one has to go to a different department at the main office at PJ. Why? Can't this be done by the issuing officer? Again why inconvenience the public unnecessarily?

Thirdly, on this day, I noticed that children was running inside the counters. I find this unacceptable, IC and passport offices should be secure centres, non-authorised personnel including family members of staff should not be allowed inside. Disciplinary action should be taken on staff that violate the General Orders. These outside parties may accidentally damage important and classified documents and items paid for by taxpayers.

My e-mails and many reminders to various persons listed in their website has produced as much success as the American's search for WMDs.What is the point of spending millions on IT ( my taxpayer money as well) and not utilise it.

It is such a joke.
