On June 5, at about 10.50pm, I had parked my car in front of the departure hall of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and went to the rest room. When I came back, I found a summons ticket (JJ 495047) clipped to the wiper of my car.
I looked at other cars which were also parked along the departure hall roadway and found that none of them had any summons tickets.
I saw a traffic officer and his colleague and approached them. I asked why was my car the only one having a summons ticket while others had none. To my shock, the answer given was: ' Suka hati saya lah kereta mana yang saya nak saman.'
I told him that if he had summoned a car parked along a yellow line, then he should also have summoned other cars that were parked along the yellow line. I also pointed out to him that there was another car parked at the taxi drop-off lane and yet no summons was issued against the driver.
Again the traffic officer repeated the same remarks and waved me off.
Aren't traffic policemen supposed to follow rules and regulations? To selectively summon one driver and not others who are just as guilty is downright wrong, unfair and against any standard rules of the police force.
I hope the police commission will bring this matter up with the traffic police head in order to stop such practices in the future.
Policemen of this sort are the bad apples that tarnish the image of the force.
