It is plain disgraceful how the Orang Asli in Johor have been allegedly swindled by their lawyer .

My estimation of the legal profession is that it is sinking to new lows, especially with the remarks from Bar Council vice-chairperson Yeo Yang Poh that the merits of the complaint would be considered before being referred to.

I just don't read any urgency or sense of responsibility by the Bar Council to quickly get to the bottom of this.

And if the Malaysian public had any doubts about the pathetic attitude of the Jabatan Hal Ehwal Orang Asli in helping the real anak bumi of this country, the shallow excuse by Johor Jabatan Hal Ehwal Orang Asli state department director Mohamed Bakhtiar should put them to rest.

Kudos to Suaram for first raising their plight and to Lim Kit Siang for bringing this scandal to the Parliament's attention. Sadly, it must not have been important enough for the rest our busy wakil rakyat.
