We all know what the government's stand is on Anwar Ibrahim's request for his surgery to be conducted in Germany. The government has refused to allow him to go abroad, their reason being that Malaysia has all the expertise needed to conduct it here.

However, if Anwar should decide to have the surgery done locally, I would like to suggest that he have some own conditions to ensure his own safety.

One condition should be that the prime minister and his entire cabinet take a public oath (telecast live if possible) that they will take responsibility and resign if anything untoward happens to Anwar during his surgery.

This condition should also include the clause that the prime minister and his entire cabinet will not be able to be appointed as prime ministers ever again, forever.

With this kind of a condition, I'm sure the government will ensure Anwar's safety and well-being during his local operation as their political careers are at stake.

Either that or they will have to allow him to travel to Germany for the operation.
