I eagerly subscribed to the digital versions of the New Straits Times , The Star , The Sun and The Malay Mail as soon as they were made available online.

To my dismay, it is a real waste of money. These digital papers hosted by TMNet are often inaccessible. Sometimes, we only get one section of the newspaper. Missing pages are a common phenomenon.

TMNet also stated that The Star would be available by 4.30am, the NST by 4am and The Sun by 5.30am but most of time, these papers were not available by that time.

It is a great disappointment. With this deplorable online service, subscribers do not get their subscription extended free of charge if there is a service breakdown.

I wonder why these newspapers need to rush into a system when they are not even ready for it. I believe I am one of the silent majority who are indeed very disappointed by the standard and quality of this online newspaper service.

But I am indeed grateful that at least we can write to malaysiakini to air our grievances as such complaints would never be printed by the newspapers themselves.
